Blog copyright monitoring tool launched a $300,000 equity offering

FairShare LLC announced a first close of $12,500 on its $300,000 equity offering. One investor participated to the non-brokered private placement. This is the first known private placement initiated by the company on the US market.

The company offers a  free application for bloggers that allows them to keep track of their content use on the web. Users are able to assign a Creative Commons license to their blog and keep a tab on how their posts are reused across the Web. The company uses Attributor’s index of web content to find its matches. It is unclear how the application will be monetized.

FairShare, located in Temecula CA, was founded in October 2002 by Richard Agee (CEO).
