Sensor developer opens the door to new touch screen functionalities and raises $136,000

Sensing Electromagnetic Plus Corp. (SEM+) successfully closed its $136,000 equity offering which started last month. The non-brokered private placement was subscribed by two investors. This is the first time the company taps into the US private placement market.

The company is developing pressure sensitive solutions so touch screen devices can detect the intensity and pressure distribution of multiple contacts. The technology opens the door to the development of new functionalities as users will be able to engage in multi-touch, pressure sensitive, rugged, flexible and distributed detection usage on tablets or mobile devices. SEM+ is continuing the development of it software and hardware while taking part in the Plug and Play Technology Center, a startup accelerator program. The company won the Intel Business Challenge in Europe.

SEM+, registered in 2013, is headquartered in Palo Alto CA. It is led by Alessandro Levi (Co-founder, CEO and CFO). The company elected not to disclose its revenues. The executive team includes Matteo Piovanelli (Co-founder). The board of directors includes Silvano Furlan (Co-founder).
