Gainspeed‘s equity fundraising closed after its size increased by 38% to $27.5 million. The offer closed after the company raised $12.5 million from one additional investor within four months. At closing, a total of six investors had subscribed toGainspeed‘s offering. Up to now Gainspeed had raised an estimated $10 million in unregistered securities via one financing round.
Gainspeed markets, manufactures and develops a cable modem termination system that allows cable operators to increase their network efficiency and support internet protocol video. Cable operators have the ability to migrate their networks to a software-driven, all-internet protocol (IP) architecture by using the firm’s virtual converged cable access platform (CCAP). Investors include Shasta Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and Juniper Networks.
The company, headquartered in Sunnyvale CA, is led by Krishnan Padmanabhan (CEO). Gainspeed elected to keep its revenues undisclosed.
The executive team includes Shlomo Rakib and Steve Bragonier.
The board of directors includes David Juliano, Krishna Kolluri and Ron Bernal.

The company has raised an estimated total of $37.5 million via private unregistered security offerings.
