Unsugarcoat Media owner of The Bold Italic gets funding

According to a document filed by Unsugarcoat Media with the SEC, the company launched a $350,000 non-brokered equity offering. So far Unsugarcoat Media sold 89% or $310,000 worth of new unregistered securities to ten backers. The subscription started a little over a week ago. Based on the offering’s structure, the company has until June 2016 to raise an extra $40,000. The company doesn’t appear to have previously sold securities under a registration exemption with the SEC.
The company is the owner of The Bold Italic, a digital media property offering essays, news, and visual stories about San Francisco. The company is backed by Foundation Capital.
Unsugarcoat Media, registered in 2015, is headquartered in San Mateo CA. It is led by Sunil Rajaraman (CEO). Revenues were not disclosed.
