Docker increases Series D round by $18 million

Docker re-opened and closed its unregistered equity offering after increasing the placement’s size from $95 million to $113 million. The offer closed after the company raised $18 million from five additional investors within six months. At closing, a total of thirty-two investors had subscribed to Docker‘s offering. The company closed two unregistered private placements which raised an estimated $27.88 million.
The company is the developer of an open source platform-as-a-service (PaaS) platform that enables any application to be deployed as a lightweight, portable, self-sufficient container that will run in any environment. Investors include Greylock Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Trinity Ventures.
The company is headquartered in San Francisco CA. Docker elected to keep its revenues undisclosed.
The executive team includes Benjamin Golub, Mike Gupta and Solomon Hykes.
The board of directors includes Daniel Scholnick, Jerry Chen, Jerry Yang, Marc Verstaen and Peter Fenton.The company has raised an estimated total of $140.88 million via private unregistered security offerings.
